The Community Art and Nature Exchange offers an engaging environment for the community to explore nature and actively observe, collect, study and share the wonderful world that exists right outside of our front doors.
The interactive space offers visitors an opportunity to trade ethically collected natural items for donated art supplies and other treasures!
Visitors earn points for each traded item based on criteria such as quality, uniqueness and their knowledge of the object. inspiring children and families in our community to love nature and the art inspired by it.

The Community Art & Nature Exchange cannot accept: items from state and national parks, arrowheads or Native American artifacts, bird parts (feathers, eggs, nests, etc.), intentionally killed vertebrates/invertebrates, dried seahorses or coral, live plants or animals.
HOW DOES THE EXCHANGE PROCESS WORK?
1. Bring in a collected item and describe what it is, where it came from and why it is special.
2. A volunteer or educator will review the item to offer exchange points. More points are awarded based on information provided and the uniqueness and quality of the item.
3. Accept points to trade for other nature items or donated art supplies.
4. Visitor takes home newly acquired items to add to their permanent collection!
