How can we use nature and numbers to create a narrated math storybook? From counting the moving clouds, to noticing groups of ants on their hill, math can be found everywhere in nature! In this course, students will dive into counting and cardinality, place value, and number sense, and will create a collective math storybook based on their knowledge and observations!
9:00-9:15 (15 MIN) - ARRIVAL & OUTDOOR EXPLORATION
9:15-9:30 (15 MIN) - MORNING MEETING
9:30-10:15 (45 MIN) - STORYTELLING IN ART
10:15-11:00 (45 MIN)- SNACK AND OUTDOOR EXPLORATION
11:00-11:45 (45 MIN) - OPEN STUDIO
11:45-12:00 (15 MIN) - CLOSING CIRCLE & OUTDOOR EXPLORATION
Students who are registered in the Thursday afternoon 12:30-3:30pm course will stay on campus for lunch from 12:00-12:30pm.
