Florida Natives (TH/FRI 2:15-3:15PM)

In this class, we will meet Thursdays and Fridays to discuss Florida Natives, such as the Seminole, Ais, and the Timucan.  There will be an opportunity for the students to independently research a tribe of the Southeastern US or Caribbean and to present their findings to the class, with an essential element including something the student makes representing something from the indigenous tribe.  Lastly, we will develop a plan for a Maya milpa, as well as another garden space to replicate crops of various indigenous tribes of the Americas.  For ages 11-14.
