Nature & Place

Cultivating a connection to nature and place hold many benefits for children:

Supports creativity and problem solving

Improves social relations & self-discipline

Enhances cognitive abilities

Play

Journeys is a child-led, play based, mixed-age classroom. Children join a place and project-based school community that includes ample time for individual exploration in nature and beyond.

SOCIO-EMOTIONAL LEARNING

Conscious Discipline is a positive guidance approach that uses everyday conflicts as teaching moments in the life of the child. Children are given a voice and empowered to utilize a variety of tools to facilitate appropriate responses to conflict and change.
